MY THOUGHTS

“So long as you fight the darkness, you stand in the light.”

I can’t explain how much I am loving this series. This book was as amazing as the first one. Sabaa Tahir again surprised me with her writing skills and storytelling. The way she made this fantasy unique, how it isn’t filled with cliches, how every character development is strong and perfect.

“Failure doesn’t define you. It’s what you do after you fail that determines whether you are a leader or a waste of perfectly good air.”

I love that moral is as important as anything in this book. I loved that parents are always there for their children even if it is a fantasy even if children are 19-20. They didn’t abandon them, parents are not filler…THEY ARE PARENTS…and they’ll always support their children. I love that every character has as a family and we know about them, which makes them more real.

“Fools pay attention to words in a fight. Warriors take advantage of them.”

I loved that everyone is so strong head and willing to do what they want, in the process, they make mistakes, lose the loved ones but still, they act like a human, not some heartless assassin. They realize things, are guilty on mistakes but rather than dwelling on those they move on they try to move ahead in life.

In short, I love everything about this series. This book is showing a completely different Love, a love which made you let go of things rather than clinging to them.
