180 Seconds-Book Review

180 SecondsSome people live their entire lives without changing their perspective. For Allison Dennis, all it takes is 180 seconds…

After a life spent bouncing from one foster home to the next, Allison is determined to keep others at arm’s length. Adopted at sixteen, she knows better than to believe in the permanence of anything. But as she begins her third year in college, she finds it increasingly difficult to disappear into the white noise pouring from her earbuds.

One unsuspecting afternoon, Allison is roped into a social experiment just off campus. Suddenly, she finds herself in front of a crowd, forced to interact with a complete stranger for 180 seconds. Neither she, nor Esben Baylor, the dreamy social media star seated opposite her, is prepared for the outcome.

When time is called, the intensity of the experience overwhelms Allison and Esben in a way that unnerves and electrifies them both. With a push from her oldest friend, Allison embarks on a journey to find out if what she and Esben shared is the real thing—and if she can finally trust in herself, in others, and in love.

MY THOUGHTS

*Unpopular Opinion Alert*

“It’s going to hurt until it doesn’t anymore.”

It is my first book of this writer, All those good ratings and reviews convinced me to read it, The title is so pretty, I thought this book is about a girl with anxiety it was, but not as much as title depicts.

The writing style was fine for me and I devour it in one day, Story had potential when it started but the as soon as that 180 second game starts it made me cring so much, After a while romance was normal and tolerable, but the starting of that romance left such a bad impact on me.

Esben, I couldn’t relate to his character, his fans, and his blogs and a few of his hashtags were also lame, I just didn’t get him. I know this was about humanity and showing that there are good in this world.

I like the character of Steffi she is fun with engergy radiated through her. Allison ended up as another bland, the way Steffi set everything up but she didn’t have any idea because she is so stupid to connect anything.

The story was so abnormally optimistically perfect, Urgh…

It was just not for me.

  6. I haven’t heard about this book yet but I love the cover. It draws you in and catches your attention immediately. Great review! I’m sorry to hear it wasn’t the best 😦 I am intrigued by the idea of it, however.

    1. I was also attracted by cover, but after reading the book, I get the sense of cover but that thing was not the main part of the story, so there are so many small things I couldn’t digest…I hope you’ll enjoy it more 🙂
