City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments #6)-Book Review

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments, #6)In this dazzling and long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed Mortal Instruments series, Clary and her friends fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary’s own brother.

Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures out of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell.

The embattled Shadowhunters withdraw to Idris – but not even the famed demon towers of Alicante can keep Sebastian at bay. And with the Nephilim trapped in Idris, who will guard the world against demons?

When one of the greatest betrayals the Nephilim have ever known is revealed, Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec must flee – even if their journey takes them deep into the demon realms, where no Shadowhunter has set foot before, and from which no human being has ever returned…

Love will be sacrificed and lives lost in the terrible battle for the fate of the word in the thrilling final installment of the classic urban fantasy series The Mortal Instruments!

MY THOUGHTS

I am so relieved to finish this series, this turned out the most tortures read of my life. Where I write the reviews for all the books of this series, I have to write for this one also. This series is a nightmare. I know, I know I enjoyed first 4 books but the way this series ended, It is the worst possible way to destroy any good impression I had.

I also know Cassandra Clare has a large fandom but no I am not in it, and I am never ever going to read any writing of her.

I don’t get the strategy behind dragging and dragging a book uselessly until reader dies with boredom. Yeah, the last 2 books were superfluously large. It is like Cassandra was throwing all the words on pages came to her mind.

I was too bored until the end, It didn’t matter to me if someone is dying or some so-called twist was there…I just want to get rid of this ridiculous story and dull babbling characters.

The only sebastain was the character who had something in his pocket to offer otherwise all were the same…No character development at all.

If it is series finale so it is necessary to throw a dozen new characters, and made their name by any two things you see first….Really Carstairs? then leave some loose ends so you can exaggerate the series again in future…Ridiculous. By the way, all the new characters were also stupid.

And how tiny, small or doll-like is Clary, I am sick of reading it…what is she? A DWARF?

And If I am not wrong, someone said in starting books that vampires are not like werewolves who make anyone who kill their leader, their new pack leader then why Mauren was new vampire’s leader after killing Camille or Camillea ( I don’t remember her name and I am not guilty), and how she killed her she was most dangerous and old vampire and blah blah.

I also realize one more thing that extra sarcasm can make a book better but only sarcasm A BIG NO.

I won’t recommend this series to anyone, not even my enemy, No I don’t even have one, but If I’ll recommend it to some there is a possibility to get one

The series was originally supposed to be a trilogy and she ended up adding more books to the series. And you can tell. I read her other series first (The Infernal Devices) and enjoyed it. Then I went to this one. I did like it but you’re so right. She dragged out the story for way too long. Great reviews, btw!

    1. Thank you 🙂
You are right if it would be trilogy it would be good, I hate it when authors dragged a good trilogy and made readers hate it.

I totally agree with you that this series was drawn out, everything is a cliff hanger and nothing comes of it, should have ended at the third book

  11. Pity you didn’t enjoy it. I read the series a long time ago and I remember loving it. Agree that the books are huge and could of been condensed down.

It seems a valiant effort that you kept going all the way to the end. Hopefully you are wiser now if nothing else.
